Greening the city

Parco lambro is located in the edge of the Milan city, in which has a wide biodiversity as well as abundant various species of flora and fauna. However, the survey shows that this area not only has been influenced by the accelerating urbanizing process, but also shows some serious conflict between the urban fabric and the green space system as well as the problem of ecological connection between the urbanized city fringe and the nature park.

The design aims to find the cause of this problem and the way to change it. The design analyzes the environmental conditions around the park that may effect discontinuity of the connections. Conditions are various such as all kinds of facilities, the arrangement of the green space and the sight visions of people’s. On this basis, the whole site that has been selected is systematically upgraded and activated through macro-strategy which is to build a green belt around the park and detailed measures.
